French Menu

Hi, Today for inquiry we were told to either make a video about french or make a menu, I chose to make a menu. It consists of french meals, there are main meals, lunch and dessert, I hope you like it, enjoy!

speech reflection

Hello, yesterday in literacy we were presenting our speeches,  it went pretty successfully, people got up and presented, a lot of the speeches were very entertaining, there were a couple that could have been better. Today I was told to make a reflection on yesterday and how I felt about it and how I thought some other people went

 Explain what I wrote

- I wrote my speech about conspiracy theory 

- I am really proud of the way I used rhetorical questions

- I really enjoyed Flynn's speech on myths. I like how he was fluid in the way he spoke

- If I were to write my speech again I would want to  add more theories

French Animation

 

Today before tech, we were learning French, there were a lot of options for tasks and we (Ngaru, me and Taine) chose to make an animation, it is two people just having a normal conversation in french

Kia Ora, today for inquiry we learnt some french words from Mr Gilstrom (he's from Canada) 

and were told to make an animation introducing ourselves in french. I chose not to make the animation about myself. I just made up some characters that were from America and France. Do you have any feedback for me? Do you speak french? I hope you enjoy :)

Matariki Art

Kia Ora, for the last half of term 4, we have been learning all about Matariki, and in doing so we've made a lot of art I thought that this one was the best one so far. We started by making a draft copy for practice, once that had been approved we moved on to the actual copy we outlined it, coloured it in and then water painted it. Have you ever done this? what would you recommend I do differently? hope you like it!

 

S.T.E.A.M

 

Hey, for inquiry today we were challenged to make a table out of paper and make it hold at least one book. We originally made ours out of thick newspapers that we made into cylinders for for the legs, but we ended up just wrapping all the cylinders in two pieces of newspaper and using the cylinders as a strong structure for the paper we wrapped it in. we never expected to get 5 books! have you ever done this? would you have any feedback for next time? bye!

Hey, in maths a couple of days ago we did some baking, in my group we made hokey pokey, the first batch didn't turn out so good, we burnt it really bad, but the second time we were successful. Have you ever made hokey pokey? bye!

In music this term we have been given the decision to choose what instrument we want, there are only two instruments out of those two I chose drums (Mainly because my friends are in drums) it's just a bucket with coloured tape and we are supposed to hit every time that colour came up anyway we have this thing called matrix that we do when we're not doing anything, Hope you enjoy!

Hey, for inquiry today we were told to say what we say in some Optical Illusions. For A I thought I every time I tried to look at one of the black dots in my peripheral vision and then I looked at them they turned white, for B at first I saw 5 legs but then I look a little bit closer I saw 6 and for C The horizontal lines were sloping, What did you see? Egg drop

 

Hey, For inquiry today we had to go into groups and make an egg and try and protect it when we drop it off a 3.5m Hight we sketched our design on a sheet of paper, we dropped it and it failed it cracked right down the middle. Have you ever made an egg drop? Hope you Enjoy! 

1940s music

 

Hey, for inquiry we were put in groups to research music in a certain time in history we were chosen to do the 1940s. we had to make a slide with some artist, songs and the instruments in those songs. I think we did quite a good job let us know!

Burger...

 

Hey, in literacy for about a week, we had to make a burger to represent "how to write or structure a good paragraph" and I made one it took me way longer than it should've it's a pretty plain burger but it doesn't really matter.

What they represent:
Bread = Topic sentence, a topic sentence is the main idea of the sentence.
Sauce = Explanation, an explanation is what I am doing to you right now I am explaining what an explanation is.
Fillings = example and detail, example and detail is explaining all the points in a paragraph

Zero character description

Kia Ora

Recently in literacy we have been reading the book holes and we were told to do a character description and listed all the characters we could describe. While most people chose Kate Barlow or Sam the Onion Man I  chose Zero, although he's quiet and doesn't say much I think he has a huge part in the story, if he wasn't a part of the story none of this would've happened, Eg: Stanley wouldn't be at Camp Green Lake. anyway, I hope I did a good job, Enjoy!

Hey, in shaw maths for the past two weeks we have been learning mean, median, mode & range and we were told to make an explanation slide to show we understand, I hope I explained it well enough, Enjoy!
